It’s time to go subsurface in an attempt to build the fastest tunnel boring machine in the world!
As innovative transportation continues to make our world progressively smaller, it is imperative that it remains efficient, in terms of speed, distance and space used. Now that we have conquered the skies, it’s time to look beneath the surface. Underneath the ground lies an era of high-speed transportation, unparalleled seismological research, and maybe even underground cities. All, within our grasp, just by a network of underground tunnels.
Not-A-Boring-Competition organised by The Boring Company, we are competing to build a 30-meter tunnel with a cross-sectional area of 0.2 square meters at a minimum depth of 1.5 meters.
Winning Categories include:
Fastest to complete tunnel
Fastest to complete tunnel and driving surface
Most accurate guidance system
Conventional tunnel boring machines are 14 times slower than a garden snail. Our design, in comparison, aims to be faster, lighter and simpler.
